Choosing the right pet photo

Shoot at eye level

A photo taken down at your pet's height reads far better on a case than one looking down from standing.

Daylight beats lamplight

Dark fur loses all its detail indoors. A shaded outdoor shot keeps the texture around the eyes and nose.

Fill the frame

Cases are small. A tight head-and-shoulders crop prints with far more impact than a full-body shot.

Check the eyes are sharp

If the eyes are in focus, the print will look right. Motion blur is the one thing printing cannot fix.

How to make your pet case

1. Pick your phone model. The printable area and camera cut-out change per model, so this comes first.
2. Upload the photo. Use the original file rather than one re-shared through a messaging app.
3. Crop around your pet. Pinch to zoom and drag until the face sits clear of the camera cut-out and the case edges.
4. Add their name if you want it. A name or a date over the photo works well set low, under the chin line.
5. Order. Printed, cured and dispatched, usually within 72 hours.

Memorial and multi-pet cases

A large share of pet cases are memorial pieces. If the only photo you have is small or slightly soft, crop conservatively and keep the image large on the case — over-zooming an old picture is what causes a soft print. For two pets, either use a photo of them together or layer two images side by side in the customizer, which also works for a dog on one person's case and a cat on another's.
