Designing artwork for a magnetic case

Print is unaffected

Magnets are embedded below the printable surface, so there is no ring, shadow or dead zone in your artwork.

Place faces high

An attached wallet covers the middle third of the back. Faces, pets and names read better set slightly above centre.

Matte hides thickness

A magnetic shell is a fraction thicker. Matte finishes disguise it; gloss makes printed colour pop. Both take the same UV ink.

Model-exact rings

The magnet ring is positioned per model, so an iPhone 17 Pro Max case aligns with its charger, not an older generation's.

Which phones can take one

Every iPhone from the iPhone 12 through to the iPhone 17 Pro Max has native MagSafe. Samsung Galaxy S25 and S26 handsets support Qi2 magnetic charging, and Galaxy S21 to S24 phones can still use magnetic wallets and mounts through a magnet-equipped shell at their own wireless charging speed. What makes a case a real MagSafe case?
A full ring of magnets built into the shell, aligned with the magnet array in the phone. Without it a case still charges wirelessly, but at standard Qi speed and only when perfectly positioned.
Can I print my own photo on a MagSafe case?
Yes. The magnets sit inside the shell, below the print layer, so artwork prints edge to edge exactly as it does on a standard case.
Will a magnetic wallet cover my design?
While attached, a wallet covers roughly the middle third of the back. Placing faces, names or initials slightly higher keeps the design readable with the wallet on.
Which phones can take a custom MagSafe case?
Every iPhone from the iPhone 12 onwards has native MagSafe. Galaxy S25 and S26 handsets support Qi2 magnetic charging, and earlier Galaxy models can use magnetic accessories through a magnet-equipped shell.
